A Look at Huntley’s Domestic Contacts

On the police blotters various department send me, I notice there are a lot of domestic calls.

Huntley’s Deputy Chief Kevin Keane worked up numbers from January through August.

These don’t represent the number of arrests; they include incidents that may have involved

• verbal arguments,
• assaults,
• batteries,
• harassment, or
• violations of orders of protection arising from domestic situations

“We have a social worker on staff full time since 2022 and part time since 2019.

“Domestic can be referred to our social worker for follow-up to access services such as support groups, housing assistance, and counseling, among other resources.”
