As the Village Board of Lakewood considers whether to continue with its financial agreement with Crystal Lake, the Crystal Fire/Rescue Department sent out this press release:
Structrure Fire at 7305 Gleneagle Circle
At 06:41 AM on Thursday, August 13, 2026, the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department was dispatched for for a possible structure fire at 7305 Gleneagle Circle, Lakewood IL .

Prior to arrival Engine 344 upgraded the alarm to a working fire. Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded with (3)
Engines, (3) Ambulances, (1) Tower Ladder, (1) Battalion Chief, (1) Bureau Chief, (1) Deputy Chief, and (1) Fire Rescue Chief.
The first engine arrived on scene of a large single-family home with heavy smoke showing from the rear of the home.
The home was reported to be evacuated.
he first arriving engine initiated fire attack in the rear of the home with a handline and successfully extinguished the bulk of the fire.
Supporting crews arrived and advanced additional handlines in support of extinguishment and overhaul.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported at the scene.
The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department was assisted at the scene by Algonquin, Cary, Huntley, and McHenry Fire Departments.
Carpentersville provided a change of quarters engine, and Woodstock provided a change of quarters ambulance.
The home was not habitable due to smoke and fire damage.
Red Cross was working with providing the owner/occupant with assistance
