From the Sheriff:
On July 25, 2026 at approximately 2:30 pm members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office
responded to the 1800 block Fernwood Ln for a boat accident with injuries on the Fox River.
Due to the location and the nature of the accident the Sheriff’s Office secured the scene and it
was turned over to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Police Department.

- aggravated driving under the influence and
- reckless homicide
