McHenry Police Respond to Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash
On Sunday, June 28, 2026, at approximately 1:16AM, the McHenry Police Department and McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) responded to the area of Charles J. Miller Parkway and McHenry Avenue for a reported single-vehicle crash with injuries.
The preliminary investigation determined a green 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 850 motorcycle was traveling west on Charles J. Miller Parkway when it left the roadway and ejected the rider.
The motorcycle was found in the eastbound lanes of travel on Charles J. Miller Parkway, and the rider was located in the center median.
There were no witnesses to the crash, however a passing motorist stopped to call 9-1-1 and also flagged down a passing private ambulance company (IMG) to assist.
Life saving measures were attempted, but the 28-year-old male and sole rider of the Kawasaki succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
Currently the McHenry Police Department is not releasing any further information about the deceased to allow appropriate time for notifications.
The McHenry County Regional Crash Assistance Team responded to the crash scene to assist in the investigation.
The team consists of police officers from the McHenry Police Department, Woodstock Police Department, Spring Grove Police Department, Harvard Police Department, Cary Police Department, Johnsburg Police Department, Lake In The Hills Police Department, and Richmond Police Department.
Charles J. Miller Parkway was closed for approximately four hours while the investigation was conducted.
This traffic crash is still under investigation.
