From the Crystal Lake Police:
Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment
At approximately 1:00 a.m. on June 19, the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment in the area of Surrey Lane and Abbington Drive.
Crews arrived on scene within five minutes and found a single-vehicle crash with the occupant trapped inside the vehicle.
Due to the patient’s injuries, a LifeNet medical helicopter was requested to meet the Ambulance crew at Northwestern Huntley Hospital.
Firefighters worked quickly to safely extricate the patient, a process that took approximately 15 minutes. The patient was then treated on scene and transported by ambulance to Huntley Hospital.
Upon arrival, patient care was transferred to the flight crew from LifeNet.
LifeNet transported the patient to Advocate Condell Medical Center.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Crystal Lake Police Deparment.
