Crystal Lake Police Aggravated Battery Arrest
On June 4th, 2026, at approximately 12:00 AM, Crystal Lake Police responded to the 0-100 block of E. Woodstock Street in reference to a subject who reported being battered by a subject known to them.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim who sustained significant injuries and was subsequently transported to an area hospital.
During the investigation it was determined that the suspect used a skateboard to strike the victim in the head during the incident.
At approximately 1:55 AM, the alleged offender, identified as Gabriel R. Schuch (19), 1300 block of Cottonwood Lane, Crystal Lake, was located in the area of I-80W and the Tri-State Tollway (294) in Lansing, Illinois and taken into custody without incident by the Illinois State Police.
Mr. Schuch was charged with the following offenses and is currently being held at the McHenry County Jail:
- 1 Count Aggravated Battery – Great Bodily Harm
o 720 ILCS 5/12-3.05(a)(1), Class 3 Felony - 1 Count Aggravated Battery – Public Place
o 720 ILCS 5/12-3.05(c), Class 3 Felony
This investigation remains active and is still on going.
