From the agenda of the McHenry County Board comes this information:
The Illinois Department of Transportation is preparing improvements to the IL Route 31 corridor from IL 176 (Crystal Lake) to IL 120 (McHenry).
A part of the project will modernize traffic signals at the intersection of Bull Valley Rd and IL 31, in particular, pedestrian push buttons.
The requested payment of $10,667 is only 10% of the cost of those traffic signal improvements.
15,400 lineal feet are involved from the top of the hill north of Terra Cotta to Bull Valley Road.

Four lanes will be constructed from Ames Road to Bull Valley Road

Route 31 from Crystal Lake to McHenry has needed to be four lanes for a couple of decades.
McHenry County is not high on the Illinois Department of Transportation’s priority list.
