McHenry County Division of Transportation to Host 3rd Annual Touch a Truck Event
WOODSTOCK, Ill. – The McHenry County Division of Transportation (MCDOT) is looking forward to hosting our third annual Touch a Truck event on Sunday, May 17th from 10 A.M. until 3 P.M. at the Woodstock Farm and Fleet on Route 14.
For those that would like to take advantage of it, there will be an air horn free quiet hour from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M.
The public is invited to stroll through and climb aboard a variety of large-scale equipment provided by the MCDOT as well as local businesses and other government organizations.
Take the time to sit in the driver’s seat of some of the largest equipment we have on our road systems.
Talk with owners and operators and learn more about the capabilities and specialties of the
amazing equipment you might find throughout McHenry County. While you are visiting don’t
forget to stop by and watch the McHenry County Sheriff’s K9 Unit at 12:30 as they run through
an impressive demonstration of their team’s skills.
The MCDOT is also partnering with Veterans Path to Hope to raise donations for local veterans.
Bring goods ranging from nonperishable foods to cleaning supplies to be donated to local veterans through the Operation Dropbox donation drive.
The Operation Dropbox donation drive supports more than 3,000 local veterans and their families.
Donations get delivered to Veterans Path to Hope, a nonprofit dedicated to providing housing, employment assistance, peer support, caregiver training, and counseling to homeless veterans.
While some visitors may have already eaten in advance of the Touch a Truck, there will also be food opportunities available at the event.
With food truck favorites SmashD and Marvin’s Taco returning for another year, there will be options to choose from for lunch.
Enjoy freshly made food and relax in our seating area.
With so many amazing opportunities the MCDOT hopes that there will be something for everyone to do and enjoy.
