From the Huntley Fire Protection District:
Structure Fire
At approximately 10:54 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the Huntley Fire Protection District was dispatched to a reported structure fire on the 9700 block of Aberdeen Lane.

Initial reports from dispatch indicated a fire in the basement with visible smoke.
First-arriving units confirmed smoke conditions emanating from the basement of the residence.
Firefighters initiated a rapid interior attack, successfully containing and extinguishing the fire.
Following the initial knockdown, crews conducted extensive “overhaul” operations to check for fire extension and ensure no hidden hotspots remained within the structure.
Due to the smoke and fire damage sustained during the incident, the residence has been deemed
uninhabitable.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Huntley Fire Protection District’s Prevention Bureau.
The Huntley Fire Protection District was supported on-scene by automatic aid from the Algonquin and
Carpentersville fire departments.
No injuries were reported among residents or responding personnel.
