Single Vehicle Crash on Charles Road
On April 27, 2026, at 10:59 p.m., the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to the area of Charles Road and Timberline Trail in unincorporated Woodstock for a reported vehicle crash.
Crews arrived and located a single-vehicle crash on the north side of the roadway involving a Lake County Sheriff’s Office squad car that had left the roadway and struck a large utility pole.
The sheriff’s deputy and a passenger were evaluated on scene by paramedics and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries for further evaluation.
Due to the extent of damage to the pole, ComEd was requested to the scene to evaluate and coordinate repairs.
Charles Road was closed in both directions during the incident.
The crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. Any additional questions regarding the investigation, including cause and contributing factors, should be directed to their agency.
