I’m proud to write to you for the first time as the official Democratic nominee for Illinois’ 9th Congressional District!
The 9th District made its voice heard loud and clear for the whole country by electing a progressive fighter and rejecting dark money once and for all.
AIPAC has spent more than $7 million dollars in this race, running ads for and against four different candidates.
They spent more against me than any other candidate in Illinois. AIPAC found out the hard way: the 9th Congressional District is not for sale.
I want to thank each and every person who knocked on doors, phone banked, donated, or told their friends about our campaign. It was truly a team effort that delivered this win.
But this is just the beginning.
Whether it’s taking on ICE, lowering costs on everyday essentials, ending these insane wars overseas or finally getting back to combatting climate change — we have some real problems to tackle. And it’s time for a Congress that asserts its power and checks this president, instead of watching him shred the constitution.
We’ve still got to get through the November election before we get to Washington — but once I get there, my promise to you is this: you will always know where I stand, you will always have a partner in Congress, and you will always have a fighter on your side.
