Illinois Family Action makes endorsements for those running for state office. .
This year the most interesting feature is the Christian organization not endorsing Darren Bailey.

Instead Ted Dabrowski is endorsed.
IL Family Action only gives general reasons for its endorsements:
We support these candidates because they have demonstrated—through their words and actions—a genuine commitment to pro-life, pro-family, and pro-liberty principles, or they have established a public voting record that clearly reflects those convictions.
Specifically on the endorsement for Governor, Dave Smith wrote:
“The Illinois Family Action (IFA) board had hoped to once again endorse Darren Bailey in his campaign for governor. We previously endorsed him when he ran for state representative (2018), state senator (2020), and in his first gubernatorial race (2022).
“However, his choice of running mate makes that impossible.
“Multiple members of the IFA board and staff raised serious concerns directly with Darren Bailey about Aaron Del Mar.
“Some of these concerns were communicated to Darren back in August 2025.
“We are aware of dozens of committed Christians who also warned Darren about Aaron’s reputation.
“Regrettably, those concerns were ignored.
“Our primary objection to Aaron Del Mar is rooted in character and conduct.
“He is the father of six children by three different women and is currently cohabiting with a woman who is not his wife.
“This arrangement stands in clear contradiction to biblical teaching and sets a profoundly harmful example—first to the children involved, then to the children and grandchildren within the campaign, and ultimately to the broader public.
“For a candidate seeking statewide office, personal conduct matters.
“Leadership is not merely about policy positions; it is about modeling integrity, responsibility, and respect for God’s design for the family.
“Marriage, which Scripture teaches reflects Christ’s relationship with His Church, is diminished when a candidate openly rejects its covenantal meaning and protections for women.
“This situation raises unavoidable questions about judgment, moral leadership, and a willingness to honor and protect the very institution of marriage that pro-family leaders are called to defend.
“For these reasons, Aaron Del Mar is a non-starter, and his presence on the ticket prevents our endorsement.”
