Fom the Woodstock Frie/Rescue Department:

Dean Street Closed After Utility Pole Crash

On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 12:44 p.m., the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to the 4300 block of Gayle Drive for a reported vehicle crash with entrapment.

Crews arrived a short time later and located a single vehicle at the corner of Gayle Drive and Dean Street.

The vehicle had sustained heavy damage after leaving the roadway and shearing off a utility pole before coming to rest on the property.

The adult male driver had freed himself prior to the arrival of emergency crews.

He was assessed on scene by paramedics and declined any additional medical treatment or transport to a hospital.

Due to damage to the utility pole, Dean Street was closed in both directions while ComEd responded to assess the scene. The roadway is expected to remain closed for an undetermined amount of time.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. Any additional questions regarding the investigation, including cause, fault, seat belt use, or speed, should be directed to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
