Lake in the Hills Police Department Relocating to
New Headquarters on February 5, 2026

Lake in the Hills, IL – The Lake in the Hills Police Department is preparing to relocate from its current building at 1115 Crystal Lake Road to its newly constructed police headquarters located at 2600 Village Hall Drive on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

The move will both occur and be completed on February 5.

There will be no interruption to police services during this time; emergency and non-emergency police responses will remain fully operational throughout the day.

To assist with a smooth transition, the Police Department is asking community members to please avoid
walk-in reports on February 5 if possible.

Residents in need of police service are encouraged to call 847-658-5676 to request an officer to respond to their location, file a phone report, or utilize the department’s online reporting services, which are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

At 5:00 PM on February 5, the Crystal Lake Road location will officially close.

At the same time, doors will open at the new police headquarters.

All police services will be provided exclusively from the new location.

The Lake in the Hills Police Department will be fully open and operational at 2600 Village Hall Drive.

There is no change to the Police Department’s non-emergency phone number of 847-658-5676.

Additionally, the Records Department hours will continue to be Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding holidays.

The Lake in the Hills Police Department appreciates the community’s cooperation during their move and looks forward to continuing to provide professional police services from their new headquarters.
