Woodlawn Park Fire
At approximately 10:12 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026, the McHenry Township Fire Protection District responded to a reported structure fire in the 1600 block of N. Woodlawn Park Avenue in unincorporated McHenry.
Crews arrived on scene in approximately four minutes and found a 15-by-20-foot unoccupied, detached storage building on fire.
Firefighters deployed two hose lines, bringing the fire under control in approximately 12 minutes and achieving full extinguishment in approximately 25 minutes.
The fire was contained to the storage building and did not extend to any nearby structures.
No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters.
The storage building was a total loss; however, a camper parked nearby was saved.
A damage estimate is not available at this time.
The incident remains under investigation by MTFPD fire investigators.
