I write to express disappointment with the President’s reaction to the uprising in Iran.
I remember President Biden had words to say about the last revolt.
But he did nothing to assist.
Perhaps he concluded there was nothing he could do that would result in those in the streets succeeding.
Now it appears that President Trump is taking a similar path.
Perhaps he, too, has concluded there is nothing the U.S. that would lead to the fall of the mullahs’ reign of terror.
Ok, I can understand that.
What I can’t understand is why he would offer hope to the demonstrators and, then, basically do nothing.
He spoke loudly.
That’s all he did.
From the Gladstone Institute comes similar commentary:
“The Trump administration’s dawdling appears virtually the same as that of President Joe Biden…. Such acoustics with no follow-up destroy US deterrence and paint the Trump administration as weak and dithering at a time when the future of American preeminence is at stake. That is a terrible look.”
