From Illinois Politico:

IT’s PERSONAL:

Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss, a candidate for Congress in Illinois’ 9th District, criticized the Trump administration and the U.S. House for voting to ban gender transition treatments for minors. “It’s terrifying and infuriating,” said the Illinois Democrat who has two children who are receiving genders-affirming care.

“Health care should be guided by doctors and families who know these young people best, not Donald TrumpRobert F. Kennedy Jr. and their extremist MAGA allies in Congress,” Biss said in a statement.

Biss warns the measure would have sweeping consequences for families and providers, potentially forcing parents into “impossible choices” and driving medical professionals away from caring for vulnerable youth. He emphasized, however, that the rules are not yet law and that legal and regulatory challenges remain ongoing.
