McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Death near Harvard

On December 13, at about 4:45 p.m., members of McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, McHenry County Conservation Police Department, and Harvard Fire Protection District responded to a check for wellbeing in the 4500 block of Island Road in unincorporated Harvard. 

Upon arrival, police located a deceased adult female with a gunshot wound as well as an injured adult male, also with a gunshot wound.

The male was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

The pair were identified as household members.

This is isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing by McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.
