From the McHenry Township Fire Protection District:

Brush Fire

Crews arrived within four minutes and found an active brush fire in a field behind a home and barn. Due to strong west winds pushing the fire, a MABAS (Mutual Aid Box Alarm System) Box Alarm was requested, bringing additional wildland firefighting personnel and equipment to the scene.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in approximately one and a half hours.

The fire burned roughly 15 acres.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

MTFPD received assistance from the Antioch, Beach Park, Cary, Countryside, Crystal Lake, Fox Lake, Fox River Grove, Grayslake, Gurnee, Lake Villa, Lake Zurich, Newport, Spring Grove, Wauconda, Wonder Lake, and Woodstock fire departments, who provided on-scene support or station coverage.
