Child Pornography Arrest

The Huntley Police Department announces the arrest of Alexander Grant (45 years old) of Ramsdell Street, Huntley, IL, for 13 counts of Child Pornography.

In July 2025, the Batavia Police Department provided the Huntley Police Department with information regarding a Huntley based Internet Protocol (IP) address that was hosting potential child pornography for download via a Peer-to-peer (P2P) sharing network.

Upon receiving this information, the Huntley Police Department’s Investigations Division conducted an investigation that led to the identification of the offender, Alexander Grant.

On Thursday, October 23, 2025, Huntley Police Detectives and Illinois Attorney General Investigators, with the assistance of the Illinois State Police, Batavia Police Department, and a Lake County Sheriff’s K-9 unit, served a search warrant at a residence in the 9100 block of Ramsdell Street, where Alexander Grant resides.

Huntley Police Department Detectives and Illinois Attorney General Investigators completed an examination and analysis of several seized electronic devices.

Alexander Grant was taken into custody based on evidence gained during the search.

Alexander Grant , 45, was charged with

  • 10 counts of Child Pornography – Distribution of Child Pornography, a Class X felony,
  • two counts of Possession of Child Pornography – Victim under 13 years of age, a Class 2 felony, and
  • one count of possession of child pornography – Victim under 18 years of age, a Class 3 felony.

He was transported to McHenry County Jail pending a detention hearing.

This is still an active investigation, and no further details will be released at this time.
