Sheriff’s Office Investigates Crash Involving Farm Equipment
A 36-year-old Hebron man was seriously injured following a vehicle crash involving farm equipment on Thayer Road west of Illinois Route 47 in unincorporated McHenry County.

On Monday, October 20, 2025, at approximately 7:57 p.m., the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, McHenry County Conservation District Police, Hebron-Alden-Greenwood Fire Protection District, Woodstock Fire Protection District, and Wonder Lake Fire Protection District responded to the scene of a crash on Thayer Road, west of Illinois Route 47.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2009 Honda Odyssey was traveling westbound on Thayer Road when it collided with the Ecolo-Tiger 875 disk ripper attachment of an eastbound Case 620 tractor.
The collision occurred west of Illinois Route 47.
The Honda sustained significant damage, resulting in serious injuries to the driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle and required extrication.
The driver, a 36-year-old male from Hebron, was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Hospital McHenry, where he is listed in serious condition.
The driver of the Case tractor, a 78-year-old Hebron man, was not injured.
Airbag deployment was observed in the Honda.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit.
