RICHARD K. WIESER JR. SENTENCED TO THIRTEEN YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE WITH INTENT TO DELIVER AND UNLAWFUL USE OF WEAPONS

McHenry County State’s Attorney Randi L. Freese announces that on September 26, 2025, Richard K. Wieser, Jr., 25, of Woodstock, Illinois, was sentenced to thirteen years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the Class X felony offenses of

  • Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver,
  • Possession of Methamphetamine, and
  • Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Wieser, Jr. was sentenced by the Honorable Judge Tiffany Davis after entering a negotiated plea of guilty to the offenses.

On February 23, 2024, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that Wieser, Jr. was driving for a traffic violation.

McHenry County police K-9 Jet alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle, and a search of both Wieser, Jr and his vehicle resulted in deputies locating over 15 grams of methamphetamine.

The methamphetamine was packed for sale and delivery. Wieser, Jr. was arrested and placed on pre-trial release under the Safe-T Act.

While on pre-trial release, Wieser, Jr. continued to engage in the sale and distribution of methamphetamine.

On January 23, 2025, Wieser, Jr. was arrested by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office for a previous drug offense.

A search incident to arrest revealed Wieser, Jr. to be in possession of over 100 grams of methamphetamine, as well as cocaine and LSD.

At the time of this arrest, Wieser had a fully automatic AR-15 rifle that had been turned into a fully functional machine gun on his person.

Upon release from custody, Wieser, Jr. will be placed on Mandatory Supervised Release for a period of eighteen months.

State’s Attorney Freese appreciates the efforts of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force, the McHenry County Intelligence Led Policing Unit, and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office for their diligent and effective investigations into the illegal sale and delivery of narcotics within our county.
