In April, 2003, voters in McHenry County authorized a 2 1/2 cent per $100 of Assessed Valuation property tax.

Each year money is distributed to not-for-profit organizations.

  • Senior Service Associates – Community Senior Services & Resource Center – $205,000.00
  • Independence Health & Therapy – Adult Day Health – $300,000.00
  • Independence Health & Therapy – Memory Care – $335,000.00
  • Veterans Path to Hope – Peer Support for Senior Veterans – $40,000.00
  • Lake County Center for Independent Living – Mc. Co. Senior Independent Living
    Services – $50,000.00
  • Home of The Sparrow – Supportive Services for Seniors Facing Homelessness &
    Housing Insecurity – $45,000.00
  • Pioneer Center for Human Services – Senior Residential Program –$150,000.00
  • Pioneer Center for Human Services – SOAR – $105,000.00
  • Harvard Community Senior Center – Core Services – $30,000.00
  • Habitat for Humanity – Senior Critical Home Repair – $100,000.00
