From the Sheriff:

McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Earns Award for Dispatch Excellence

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Communications Division has been officially recognized as an Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) in Emergency Medical Dispatching by the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED).

The ACE designation is awarded to centers that meet rigorous standards in protocol compliance, quality assurance, and dispatcher training.

Fewer than 400 dispatch centers worldwide currently hold this accreditation, placing McHenry County among a select group of agencies recognized for consistent excellence in emergency communications.

“Our dispatchers are the first point of contact during emergencies, and this accreditation confirms the high level of service they provide every day,” said Sheriff Robb Tadelman.

“This recognition is a direct result of their professionalism and commitment to public safety.”

The accreditation process included a comprehensive review of McHenry County’s emergency medical dispatching operations, an evaluation of call-handling protocols, and verification that all performance standards are being met on an ongoing basis. Accreditation is valid for three years and requires continuous compliance with IAED standards.

This recognition highlights the essential role dispatchers play in emergency response and reinforces the Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to providing the highest level of service to the community.
