No handicapped parking at the Bark Park this year, so I had to park a half a mile away.

Entering the staging area west of the skate park, I encountered McHenry County Board member Matt Kunkle’s entry.

Later I found out he was not part of the Republican Party contingent.

He was first at the front of the entries.

The regular Republican entry was in the staging area, too.

The truck pulling the float had political signs on it, too.

Congressional hopeful Mike Pence came up to me to introduce himself, as he did at Crystal Lake’s Independence Day Parade, so I took his photo.

When the entry reached my site, I took the following photos.

Pence mingled with the spectators.

He gave away flags.

Here’s the Republican Party float in the parade.

One sign reads, “Don’t Cook County OurMcHenry County.”

I’d be with this lady riding on the float.

Volunteers walked the sides of the road giving away little American flags.

Here’s what the contingent looked like pulling away.
