Crystal Lake Police Conduct Crash Investigation
Crystal Lake, IL – On Friday, August 29, 2025, at approximately 12:52 AM, Crystal Lake Police and Fire/Rescue responded to Crystal Ridge Drive and Carmella Drive for the report of a single vehicle crash involving injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed a Toyota pickup truck was driving westbound Crystal Ridge Drive at a high rate of speed when it left its lane of travel and struck a tree.
The driver of the vehicle was airlifted from the scene and remains in critical condition.
One of the passengers in the vehicle was also airlifted from the scene and is in stable condition.
A second passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
A portion of the roadway was shut down for approximately three hours while emergency personnel worked the scene.
The driver of the Toyota, identified as Harrison G. Pellikan (23) of Crystal Lake, was arrested and
charged with:
- DUI. 625ILCS5/11-501a2 (Class A Misdemeanor)
- DUI with BAC over .08. 625ILCS5/11-501a1 (Class A Misdemeanor)
- Failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. 625ILCS5/11-601 (Petty offense)
- Transportation or possession of alcoholic liquor in a motor vehicle. 625ILCS5/11-502.

This event remains under investigation by the Crystal Lake Police Department.
