From the agenda of the Fox River Grove Tuesday, August 19th, Board meeting is found a discussion scheduled about
Non-Home Rule Municipal Sales Tax and Revenue Offset Options
The Board will consider a non-home rule municipal sales tax as a way to broaden the revenue base and reduce reliance on fees and taxes paid solely by local residents and businesses.
This type of sales tax is already in place in the vast majority of neighboring communities, making it a common approach to local revenue generation. If adopted, the additional revenue would open up the opportunity for the Village to reduce other taxes and fees, easing the financial burden on Fox River Grove households and business owners.
