From McHenry County:
Second Property Tax Installment is Due Sept. 10
WOODSTOCK, Ill. – The second installment of property taxes is due Wednesday, Sept. 10 – and McHenry County property owners have many convenient and fast ways to pay.
Taxpayers have a new in-person option at Associated Bank McHenry County locations, which include branches in Crystal Lake and Richmond; the bank will accept check-only payments from any McHenry County property owner, regardless of whether they have an Associated Bank account.
Payments will be accepted in a designated tax payment line.
“While the McHenry County Treasurer’s Office in Woodstock is standing by to accept tax payments from
anyone who wants to pay in person, people who live or work closer to Crystal Lake or Richmond now have a more convenient in-person option,” Treasurer Donna Kurtz said.
“Thank you so much to Associated Bank for opening their doors to accept payments from any county property owner.”
The Treasurer also recognizes the dedicated service to the community that many other banks in McHenry
County provide by accepting tax payments.
A list of all banks accepting tax payments, and whether available to any taxpayer, or limited to customers only, can be found on the Treasurer’s website at treasurer.mchenrycountyil.gov by clicking on the “Paying Your Tax Bill” menu item.
Taxpayers wishing to pay electronically will find the process quick and easy, Kurtz said.
Kurtz is once again reminding property owners about the VIP Taxpayer program, which allows people to
schedule electronic payments, get reminders of future due dates, and sign up to receive future bills
electronically.
Taxpayers can pay by electronic check (E-check) without paying any processing fees, either as a VIP Taxpayer or as a one-time online payer.
To sign up as a VIP Taxpayer or make a one-time payment, you can scan the QR code on the upper right of your property tax bill or visit treasurer.mchenrycountyil.gov.
To pay your property taxes electronically via E-Check, visit treasurer.mchenrycountyil.gov and click on “Look Up/Pay Your Tax Bill.”
Once you look up your tax bill, you can click on “Pay Taxes” to begin the process.
To pay by phone, call 877-220-2247 and follow the prompts.
When you pay via E-Check, write down the payment confirmation code you will receive so you have this for your records.
If you wish to pay by mail, send the payment (please do not send cash) along with the payment coupon to: McHenry County Collector, PO Box 8730, Carol Stream, IL 60197-8730.
If paying by check, please write your property parcel number on it.
People who wish to pay in person at the Treasurer’s Office (located at 2100 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock)
can do so from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, except on Monday, Sept. 1 as all McHenry County offices are closed for the Labor Day holiday.
Taxpayers can pay in the lobby or through the four drive-through lanes; the Treasurer’s Office accepts check, cash, and debit/credit card payments.
If you have questions, please call the Treasurer’s Office at 815-334-4260, or email
treasurer@mchenrycountyil.gov. We are dedicated to serving you!
