From the Coroner:
Accident at McCullom Lake Rd and Rt. 31 in McHenry, IL
McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Michael Rein, announced that his office was contacted on July 28, 2025, around 1:15 am by McHenry Police Department to investigate the death of 2 individuals involved in a 2-vehicle accident at the intersection of McCullom Lake Rd./Rt. 31 in McHenry.
The individuals that were pronounced deceased at the scene was Perla Trejeda, age 18 of McCullom Lake and a male juvenile age 14 also of McCullom Lake.
An autopsy was performed on both individuals July 29, 2025.
Preliminary findings show blunt force injuries as he cause of death for both individuals.
Toxicology is currently pending.
The Coroner’s Office is continuing to work collaboratively with the McHenry Police Department, McHenry Township Fire Protection District and MCAT (McHenry County Regional Assistance Team).
