Kat Abughazaleh and five others first charged with felonies for their actions in front of the Broadview ICE Detention Center which were reduced to misdemeanors now faces no charges
The U.S. Attorney revealed that when the first Grand Jury refused to indict, a second one was convened.
Abughazaleh made her opposition to the ICE enforcement actions a main part of her campaign for the Democratic party nomination for Congress.
She came in second to Evanston Mayor Dan Biss, but was first in McHenry County’s Algonquin Township.
It should be noted that the Federal government will not pay any of her legal fees.
