The woman who ended by elective career, Rosemary Kurtz, has died.
She beat me for State Representative in the 2000 Republican Primary Election, going on to serve two years in the Illinois General Assembly.
We agreed on financial policy, but held diametrically opposed views on social policy.
Fortunately for me, she beat by so much that I wasn’t not plagued with “If I had only done this or that”
We reconciled after a while and I joined her in supporting her daughter Donna, now McHenry County Treasurer in her efforts on the McHenry County College Board and the McHenry County Board.
The last time I saw her was on a tricycle on last year’s Crystal Lake Independence Day parade
Rosemary Kurtz was born in 1930.
