Don Tracy: Chicago Tribune Op-Ed Confirms Brandon Johnson and Juliana Stratton Are Failing to Keep Our Neighborhoods Safe
CHICAGO — Chicago community organizer Ja’Mal Green’s recent op-ed in the Chicago Tribune, Don’t surrender Chicago to ‘teen takeover’ chaos, confirms what working families in Chicago have been experiencing for years: a failure of leadership that’s been enabled by the extreme agenda of Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton and her political allies, like Brandon Johnson and Kim Foxx.
In the op-ed, Green warns that “if you don’t control your public spaces, you lose your city,” and calls for stronger enforcement, earlier intervention, and accountability for disruptive behavior.
“That’s just common sense,” Tracy said.
“But common sense has been in short supply while my opponent has been a politician in office.
“Juliana Stratton has stood by Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson every step of the way as he downplays crime, attacks law enforcement, and allows chaos to take hold in one of America’s greatest cities and on its mass transit system.
“She isn’t just ignoring the problem.
“She’s enabling it.
“As long as Chicago is unsafe, it will continue to affect the entire Illinois economy. Jobs disappear, businesses struggle, and families are left wondering if their city (and their state) is still a place where they can build a future.
“I’m running because I believe Illinois deserves better. We need strong leadership that will stand up for everyday Illinoisans, favor victims over career criminals, restore order to our communities, and make this state a place where families can again feel safe at home, at work and on commuter trains.
“Voters have a clear choice: more of the same extreme policies and failed leadership from Juliana Stratton and her allies, or a new direction rooted in common sense and personal accountability.”
