From the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District:

Vehicle Strikes Home on Applewood Lane

On Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 7:58 p.m., the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to the 2400 block of Applewood Lane in Woodstock for a reported vehicle crash.

While crews were en route, additional information indicated a vehicle may have struck a home.

Firefighters arrived a short time later and confirmed a vehicle had driven into a residence at the corner of Aspen Drive and Applewood Lane, causing moderate damage to both the vehicle and the home.

At the time of the crash, the home was occupied by an elderly woman who was seated within inches of the point of impact.

Despite being so close to where the vehicle struck the home, she was not injured.

The driver of the vehicle, an adult male, refused medical attention on scene.

The Woodstock Building Department was requested to evaluate the damage to the home, and Nicor Gas responded to address a small natural gas leak caused by the collision.

Firefighters remained on scene until nearly 10:00 p.m., assisting with minor cleanup and ensuring the resident had the information and resources needed before crews cleared.

The home remains habitable.

The Woodstock Police Department is investigating the crash. Any additional questions regarding the investigation, including cause, fault, seat belt use, or speed, should be directed to their office.
