Both the Northwest Herald and the Daily Herald, which picked up the story, wrote misleading headlines on the story about the victories of Jeff Schwartz and Marty Mohr.

Now, take a look at the results as of Election Day:

Anything above 55% is usually considered a landslide.

While the victories of Jeff Schwartz over Brian Sager and Marty Mohr over Larry Smith won’t be official until two weeks from the election, there is no way outstanding absentee and provisional votes can be enough to overcome leads of 265 and 463 votes.

Here are maps showing what precincts each candidate in Districts 6 and 7 won:

Jeff Schwartz took the precincts in blue; Brian Sager won in the green precincts.

Marty Mohr took the green precincts, while Larry Smith took those in blue.
