The City of Woodstock and the Illinois Department of Transportation are coming together to host an open house to educate the public on the impending Route 47 widening project.
City and IDOT staff will be on hand to walk you through the upcoming construction, answer your questions, and share how this work will shape the future of Route 47. The open house will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 18 at Building D of the McHenry County Fairgrounds, 1900 Country Club Road, Woodstock. This date has been changed from an earlier announcement.
Plans include widening Route 47 to four lanes between Route 120 and Route 14, adding roundabouts at three intersections to improve safety and traffic flow, as well as adding sidewalks and a shared use path.
