From the campaign of Ted Dabrowski:
Thank Raja and Robin Kelly for Airport Chaos as DHS Shutdown Leaves Spring Break Travelers Waiting House in Line
SPRINGFIELD — Travelers across the United States are facing massive airport security delays. Some have reported waiting up to three hours to clear TSA checkpoints, as the ongoing shutdown of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security continues into its fourth week.
Reports from major airports show security lines stretching for hours as thousands of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents are forced to work without pay during the shutdown, which has led to staffing shortages and widespread travel disruptions during the busy spring break travel season.
“The Department of Homeland Security has now been shut down for weeks because Democrats in Congress are once again hurting people to gain what Raja calls ‘political leverage,’” said Don Tracy.
“Tens of thousands of TSA agents are working without pay while families trying to travel are stuck in long security lines at airports across the country.
“Meanwhile, Raja Krishnamoorthi and Robin Kelly voted against funding DHS again last week, doubling down on the same partisan theatrics that created this crisis in the first place, while Americans pay the price in real time.
“This is yet another example of Democrats pushing their extreme agendas while the rest of us pay the price, and Krishnamoorthi and Kelly could not care less.
“As your U.S. Senator, I will not let politics get in the way of helping the people I was elected to serve. Everyday Illinoisans deserve leaders with common sense and a government that works for them.”
