While motorcycle helmets were the goal of the Feds back then, there’s a different reason this year, according to the Tribune.
It’s “because a federal audit had revealed illegally issued commercial drivers licenses in Illinois…
“The feds also accused Illinois of issuing nondomiciled CDLs without providing evidence it had verified the drivers’ permission to be in the U.S.”
Illinois has been given 30 days to appeal and/or take corrective action.
