From State Rep. Sue Ness:

Ness Responds to Governor’s Budget Proposal, Lays Out Plan Ahead

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Suzanne Ness, D-Carpentersville, released the following statement in response to Governor Pritzker’s annual budget address delivered today:

“I share the same fight as my neighbors, who, across the state, are facing extraordinary cost-of-living challenges fixed by a federal administration that seeks to cut the most basic of care for low- and modest-income families.

“Now that the governor has outlined his budget priorities for the year ahead, I’ll be strategically going line-by-line through his proposal to see what works for our families and what simply doesn’t.

“This is an anything but ordinary year where we must tighten our reins to protect safety nets that matter most for children, working families and seniors,” said Ness.

“This doesn’t mean swapping fairness for efficiency—last year, we cut millions in government waste to better support Illinoisans.

“I’ll continue targeting ways we can eliminate waste to reinvest in a future every family can afford.”
