Sheriff’s Office Investigates Suspicious Package
This afternoon at about 1:05 p.m., the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a report of a suspicious package on the bike trail near the intersection of Walkup Road and Hillside Road in unincorporated Crystal Lake.
Deputies responded to the scene and were unable to identify the package.
Kane County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Unit was requested to thoroughly investigate the package.
Upon investigation, the Bomb Unit determined the package was not dangerous, and the situation was safely resolved.
All impacted roadways and the bike trail have reopened.
