2700 Block Russett Rd – McHenry Fire
On February 16, 2026, at approximately 6:50 p.m., the McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) responded to a reported structure fire in the 2700 block of W. Russet Drive in unincorporated McHenry County.
Crews arrived in six minutes and found a two-story single-family dwelling with smoke showing from the front door.
Two occupants had safely evacuated prior to the fire department’s arrival.
Firefighters immediately initiated an interior fire attack while also searching for potential victims.
The fire was confined to a single room and extinguished in less than ten minutes.
Smoke damage was present throughout the remainder of the home.
No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported, and the fire is currently under investigation by MTFPD investigators.
