Crash Sends Vehicle into Pond in Del Webb


On Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 9:45 a.m., the Huntley Fire Protection District and Huntley Police Department responded to the area of W. River Park Drive and Del Webb Blvd. in Huntley for a reported water rescue.

Crews arrived a short time later and located a two-vehicle crash just south of the intersection.

One vehicle was located near the roadway, while the second had gone down a hill and came to rest near a pond, only a few feet from shore and in ankle deep water.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage as a result of the crash.

Firefighters and paramedics confirmed that both vehicles were occupied by elderly female drivers.

The driver of the vehicle near the pond required minor extrication from the vehicle.

Both patients were evaluated on scene by paramedics and were subsequently transported to a local hospital with injuries described as minor to moderate and non-life threatening.

No additional hazards were identified at the scene, and crews worked to ensure the area was safe before clearing.

The Huntley Police Department is investigating the crash. Any additional questions regarding the investigation, including cause, contributing factors, or fault, should be directed to the Huntley Police Department.
