McHenry County Clerk & Recorder Joe Tirio had a bit more than $39,700 in his Political Action Committee as of the end of 2025.

He is facing Democrat Bill McNeese.

McNeese is on the ballot for Democratic Party Precinct Committeeperson in Crystal Lake’s Nunda Township Precinct 12. This precinct composes Country Woods, Upland Acres and other subdivisions east of Walkup Road and south of Hillside Road.

McNeese moved to McHenry County twenty-one days before one could pass a petition. While his petitions had over1,600 signatures, he only collected eighteen. The Democrat grew up in Texas where he was a “meter technician.”

Here are the 2022 election results:

  • Joe Tirio – 61,927
  • Mary Mahady – 53,220

Tirio had no fund raising during the last three months of 2025 and spent almost $4,200.

Expenditures over $150 follow:

  • Internet access – $179
  • Supplies from Walmart – $838
  • Campaign work by Cor Strategies, Inverness – $400
  • Campaign Work by Joseph Lucansky, Rolling Meadows – $447
  • Campaign Staff – $1,470 ($1020 by Jamie Milton of Fox River Grove, $50 by Edward Gessert of Woodstock)

McNeese formed his Political Action Committee on October 11, 2025, reporting $1263.55 at the end of 2025.

On January 27th the McNeese D-2 was filed. The filing was due on January 15th.

He reported itemized contributions of $2,080, but did not itemize them.

Similarly, McNeese wrote that he had $816.45 in itemized expenditures, but did not list them.

Such listing is required by State law as is the identity of the filer, which is missing.

If money is left over when the McNeese campaign concludes, it will go the the PAC of County Board candidate Austin May, who is running against incumber Terri Greeno.
