Don Tracy: Working Families Are Getting Relief Thanks to Common-Sense Tax Cuts Democrats Opposed

SPRINGFIELD — According to new data from the Tax Foundation and the Internal Revenue Service, millions of working Americans are receiving larger tax refunds this year thanks to the Working Families Tax Cut Act, a common sense economic policy supported by U.S. Senate candidate Don Tracy and opposed by his Democrat opponents.

“These tax cuts reward work, expand the economy, and help lower the cost-of-living for working families,” Tracy said.

The Working Families Tax Cut Act increased take-home pay and refunds for millions of middle- and lower-income workers, while encouraging labor force participation and economic growth.

In addition, workers who earned tips or overtime pay in most states were able to keep more of their hard-earned money this year. Not in Illinois.

“Illinois Democrats continue to block ‘No Tax on Tips’ because they care more about special interests than about working families trying to get ahead.

:At a time when families are struggling with higher utility bills, groceries, gas, housing, and health care costs, the last thing Washington or Springfield should do is take more money out of workers’ paychecks. These tax cuts provided real relief, yet none of my career politician opponents support them.

“I stepped up to run for the U.S. Senate because I’ve seen what career politicians with extreme agendas are doing to working families. Illinoisans need a strong leader in Washington who understands their struggles.

I’ve worked in a warehouse, run a small business, made payroll, and raised a family. I understand what it means when every dollar counts.

“As U.S. Senator, my top priority will be advancing common-sense solutions that make life more affordable: lower taxes, lower energy costs, lower health care costs, and an economy that rewards work instead of punishing it.”
