Sheriff’s Office Investigates Single-Vehicle Crash Near Wonder Lake
A 50-year-old man from Wonder Lake was pronounced deceased following a single-vehicle rash in the 7700 block of Howe Road near Wonder Lake.
On Monday, January 19 at approximately 8:29 a.m., the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, the Wonder Lake Police Department and the Wonder Lake Fire Protection District responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash in the area.
Preliminary investigation indicates a 2011 Hyundai Sonata was traveling eastbound on Howe Road when it left the roadway to the south, through a field, and struck a tree.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is believed to be a factor of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
