From tne Coroner:
McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Michael Rein, announced that his office was contacted on January 9, 2026, by Northwestern Medical McHenry to investigate the death of Linda Thompson, age 78 of Fox Lake, Illinois.
The decedent was involved in a 2-car motor vehicle accident at around Rollins Rd and Grand Av. in Fox Lake.
Ms. Thompson was transported to NW McHenry and pronounced deceased.
An autopsy was performed on Tuesday January 13, 3036.
Preliminary findings at this time are inconclusive.
Toxicology is pending.
The Coroner’s Office is continuing to work collaboratively with Fox Lake PD, Fox Lake Fire District and Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) of Lake County.
