From Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Departmentz:

 Structure Fire – 1443 CANDLEWOOD DRIVE

Crystal Lake, IL – Crystal Lake Fire Rescue (CLFR) was dispatched to a two-story single-
family residence for a possible structure fire, report of fire in a second-floor bathroom.

Upon arrival on scene, fire crews noted smoke showing from the roof. Response was upgraded to a working fire.

Battalion 3 established command.

During firefighting operations, Command requested MABAS Box 5-341 to the box level.

Fire crews made an aggressive attack on the fire that had spread to the attic space prior to CLFR’s arrival.

Fire crews quickly located and extinguished the fire, reporting it under control at 1:47 PM.

Fire damage was isolated to the attic space and to a second-floor bathroom.

Smoke and water damage was noted throughout the second floor.

Estimated loss to the property is $100,000.

One civilian was treated and released on scene by EMS.

No additional civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Area fire departments including: Algonquin LITH FPD, Cary FPD, Huntley FPD, McHenry Township FPD, Nunda Rural FPD and Wauconda Fire District responded to the scene.

Carpentersville FD, Marengo Fire Rescue District, West Dundee FD and Woodstock Fire Rescue District all responded change of quarters.
