From Public Information Officer for many Fire Protection Districts Alex Vucha:

Joint Statement on Winter Weather Related Crashes

Snow and ice covered roadways, combined with strong winds, created hazardous travel conditions across the area throughout the morning commute and into the late morning hours.

Emergency responders from multiple agencies handled several weather-related crashes as conditions continued to deteriorate.

Woodstock Accidents

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to a commercial truck rollover shortly after 4:00 a.m. just north of the intersection of Route 47 and Ware Road in Woodstock.

The truck was hauling grain, and no additional hazards were observed.

Two occupants were evaluated by paramedics and refused further medical treatment.

As of noon on Monday, the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District had responded to two additional crashes within the district, with no serious injuries reported.

Huntley Accidents, Three on Tollway

The Huntley Fire Protection District responded to five crashes, three of which occurred on Interstate 90.

Firefighters reported road conditions were less than ideal, with snowplows having difficulty keeping up due to the high winds and rapidly drifting snow.Your Attractive Heading

Harvard Accident Leaves Woman Dead

The Harvard Fire Protection District responded to a single vehicle crash shortly before 6:00 a.m. near the intersection of South Division Street (Route 14) and McGuire Road.

Crews arrived within minutes and confirmed the vehicle was off the roadway and had sustained minor damage.

An adult female driver was located inside the vehicle and was unconscious and not breathing.

The patient was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The cause of death remains under investigation by the Harvard Police Department and any additional questions should be directed to their office.

Strong winds continue to impact the area, causing snow to drift and road conditions to change rapidly. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution, reduce speeds, and allow additional travel time.

Emergency responders continue to monitor conditions and respond to weather related incidents as they occur.
