From the Marengo Fire and Rescue Districts:
Two-Vehicle Crash Involving Semi-Truck near Marengo
On December 15, 2025, at 9:33 a.m., the Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Kishwaukee Valley Road and Deerpass Road in unincorporated Marengo.

Paramedics arrived on scene and located a crash involving a mid-sized SUV and a semi-truck.

The passenger vehicle suffered heavy damage and came to rest within the intersection.
The semi-truck had damage to its trailer and was located several hundred feet east of the intersection.
The semi-truck was not hauling any hazardous materials, and no fuel spills or additional hazards were identified at the scene.
The SUV was occupied by two adults, both of whom were injured in the crash.
Their injuries were determined to be moderate but not life threatening. Both patients were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals for further evaluation and treatment.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured and declined medical attention.

Due to a large debris field and vehicle removals, Kishwaukee Valley Road was closed in both directions for over an hour while crews worked the scene and vehicles were removed.
The crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. Any additional questions regarding the investigation, including cause, fault, seat belt use, and speed, should be directed to their office.
