The Illinois State Board of Elections had removed the only male candidates off the ballot in retiring Don DeWitte’s State Senate district.
Here is who is left on the ballot:
Rita Anne Payleitner and Patrick Carroll were objectors.
Rita Anne Payleitner and Patrick Carroll, both of St. Charles.
They were represented by attorney John Fogarty.

Record Exam Necessary: Yes, conducted November 21, 2025. Candidate filed 1,047 signatures,
Objectors objected to 225 lines. During the conduct of the exam, 167 line objections were sustained
resulting in 880 valid signatures, which is 120 below the statutory minimum of 1,000 per Section
8-8 of the Election Code, 10 ILCS 5/8-8. No Rule 9 motions were filed.
