Friend of McHenry Count Blog wonders what is going on with the state board of elections:
Max Solomon announced he has withdrawn from the gubernatorial election.

Not according to the board of elections website.
It says he is an active candidate; there is no note indicating he has withdrawn (such a note is standard practice for candidates who have withdrawn).

Why the discrepancy?
A few potential explanations.
- He did not withdraw and is lying. Unlikely.
- Withdrawal was via mail and has not reached the board of elections.
- The board of elections is not updating its website often enough so what you see on their website does not represent reality.
The board of elections says only one candidate facing an objection has withdrawn.

Four other candidates who were facing objections no longer are because the objection itself has been withdrawn.
But for over 100 candidates facing objections, the status is listed as pending, including for Solomon.

What is going on with the state board of elections?
My suggestions: Figure out if these objections are legitimate or not, and update the website at the end of each day.
If a candidate is booted off the ballot or withdraws or an objection is overruled, the website should be updated to reflect that.
